Desfazer – Monólogo para um museu

in collaboration with André Tecedeiro

Desfazer – monólogo para um museu was an invitation that became a gift for two essential reasons: the opportunity to create for a museum context (a long-held desire of mine) and the chance to closely engage with the writing of André Tecedeiro, whose work I had anonymously come to admire.
As I wandered through and occupied the Casa Marta Ortigão Sampaio, I itnewssed the preservation and crystallization of memory. Through André’s text, I discovered the possibility of undoing this memory, enabling us to rebuild anew. Faced with the challenge of bringing this text to life, I decided to create a framework that allowed for a shared reading aloud – where spectators could read to one another, where they themselves could tell the story, fostering a mechanism of listening and transmission.
Desfazer – monólogo para um museu is a monologue that can be read by one or many voices, shared between acquaintances or complete strangers, in an empty museum or a filled one, ensuring, in some way, that this time, the story will be told.
